Claylands Road

Upgrades will take place at the junction between Claylands Place and Claylands Road. The design proposed focuses on remimaging the space as meeting point with added planting and trees.

The design features:

• Upstand kerbs to guide visually impaired users
• Flush kerbs to frame the space and the pedestrian crossings
• Existing carriageway resurfaced in paving slabs 
• Parking converted into footway buildout to encourage vehicle to slow down  and decrease pedestrian crossing distances
• Existing footways to be retained and decluttered
• Shaded areas used for vertical placemaking features 
• Trees, benches, cycle parking, play equipment, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDs) added
